ABJD supported Green Carbon company to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a major local rice company in Vietnam, Loc Troi Group to to implement a carbon credit project

With productivity of 180.000 hectares of rice/year, in the context of Vietnam government implementing policies on the carbon credit market, Nghe An has taken initial steps.

JICA Advisors at MARD - Mr. Morita and Mr. Motegi join the panels with National Agricultural Extension Center (NAEC) and stakeholders in fruit value chain to discuss the opportunity and challenges of community agricultural extension in developing fruit material areas in the Northern mountainous region.

Agriculture is one of the potentials and strengths of Nghe An, as the province has a large agricultural land area that is among the top in Vietnam (1,249,176ha) and is evenly distributed in the mountainous, midland, and coastal plains. However, Nghe An’s large agricultural area is also a challenge for the already degraded irrigation system in localities.

Aside from being a unique tourist destination, DakLak is also famous for its fruits and vegetables. JICA Expert for Agricultural promotion – Mr. Motegi had the opportunity to visit Ban Me Green Farm (BMGF) and listen to their story.

On October 20th 2022, within the framework of the Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam (PSAV), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and Nestlé Vietnam jointly organized a conference entitled "Regenerative Agriculture: The Practical Solutions to Reduce Emissions and Develop Sustainable Agriculture" in DakLak Province.

On 22nd September 2022 in Hanoi, the National Agriculture Extension Center in collaboration with JICA expert team discuss and identify the challenges and lessons learnt to strengthen safe crops value chains toward the sustainable agricultural development under the project for strengthening safe crop value chains in Northern Vietnam.

On 18th August 2022 in Vinh city of Nghe An province, JICA Vietnam coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An province to organize Seminar and Agri Festa to introduce the function of ABJD and AMPF, promote acquainting Vietnamese and Japanese agribusiness enterprises for future transactions.

On 15th July 2022, in order to increase the efficiency of record keeping and application of the cultivation calendar to improve agricultural production and marketing agricultural products to farmers, Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized a workshop on effective record keeping system in agriculture.
