On 4th November 2022, JICA and CYDECO (Centre for Youth Development and International Cooperation) organized a training session for 12 delegates of JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program in 2022 to provide knowledge and understanding before the Delegation departs to Japan.

From 1995 to December 2020, there were 2,187 Vietnamese young leaders participated in exchange programs, short-term training courses in Japan to improve knowledge and skills in the fields of state management, agriculture, ecotourism, education, journalism, environment, economy, human resource development, vocational training and many other fields.
In addition to professional knowledge, young leaders participating in the program also have the opportunity to experience Japanese culture and professional working style, visit and experience real-life models in Japan.
This is also an opportunity for young leaders to introduce the unique culture of Vietnam to the Japanese people, enhance understanding, friendship and cooperation between the youth and people of the two countries.
After the Pre-Departure Training in Vietnam, 12 delegates from Agriculture and Rural Development group will be invited to participate in the Knowledge Co-Creation Program in Japan from November 6 to November 26, 2022.
On this day, JICA Advisor for Agriculture Promotion also presented a brief introduction to Japan’s agriculture and rural development.

In the medium and long-term vision in agricultural cooperation, Japan and Vietnam have agreed to implement through 2 phases: Phase 1 (2015-2019) and Phase 2 (2020-2024) with 4 signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Specifically, the MOU on cooperation in the dissemination of standards and certification related to the quality of agricultural products and food, signed on April 24, 2018; MOU on rice value chain development, signed on October 12, 2018; MOU on exchange of technology and techniques in irrigation; MOU on fisheries cooperation, signed on December 12, 2020.
